Country Morning Griddle Cakes
25
This is a mix I make for griddle cakes. If you would love to be able to whip together a hot breakfast in minutes, without the fuss of having to assemble a lot of ingredients, this is for you! It has no animal products so it's vegan friendly. It merely requires that you add 3 wet ingredients (milk, 1 egg, oil OR plant milk, vegan egg sub. and applesauce or another oil sub. if you are making this for a vegan) and mix and put in your skillet. ;) You may also choose to add fresh or frozen fruit (but they will cook up faster if you add the fruit on top rather inside the batter.) These griddle cakes rise nicely and turn out really well. Yield: 28 griddle cakes per package using 1/4 cup/cake (see pic included above, that's the size.)
Note that I use organic cane sugar in the mix instead of white sugar and I also use sea salt rather than standard table salt. I heat seal the package. Instructions for cooking are on the outside, under protective packaging tape. Right now this is for local pick-up only. Thanks.
P.S. If you want to do these as vegan but are unsure of appropriate subs for the egg and milk, just ask me. ;) I strongly suggest everyone sub unsweetened applesauce for the oil as it' s just a lot more nutritious and a lot less fat! :) Also, if you want to ramp up the nutrition, I can also make these with the addition of organic oat bran, or hemp seeds or with a mixture of organic wholewheat flour and white flour combined (you can choose if you want those extra ingredients) for 5 simbis more.
