I've been driving standard (stick shift) all my life (well as long as I've been driving and it's been quite a few years. lol) If you either want someone to help you learn how to drive standard OR you have a significant other/child, etc. who you are losing your sanity trying to help them with this, then I can be of assistance. The only thing I ask is that we do it in your vehicle and on your gas. I will take them at first to non-busy places ideal for them to just get used to shifting and moving the car... ex. empty parking lots, cemeteries, back roads with little traffic. Once they are doing pretty well, I will even help them get used to how to maneuver a steep grade in a standard (especially when you're stuck in a lineup on a steep grade.) I've helped friends before and I can do it again. :) P.S. I took an expensive defensive driving course when I was younger and have never been in an accident. I can also pass on some tips for safe driving when we have our lessons. :)
