KJ Erickson

KJ believes an economy that works for everyone is within reach. She holds a degree in Public Policy from Stanford University and an MBA from Oxford. When she was 20, KJ founded FORGE -- a social venture that provides education and entrepreneurship opportunities to refugees in war-torn Africa -- and grew the organization to 200 people serving 70,000 refugees. Her awards include the Skoll Scholarship for Social Entrepreneurship, the Do Something Award for public service, and the Stanford Haas Public Service Fellowship. KJ has also been named a “Top 40 Leader Under 40” by the New Leaders Council and a “Person You Should Know” by CNN. KJ's full name is Kjerstin, and she gets incredibly excited when someone knows how to pronounce it.

Artem Kozaev

Artem was born in the frigidly cold north region of Russia, where you can see the northern lights in the winter and the white nights during the summer. A software engineer by trade, he holds a Bachelor's in Information Technology and a Masters in Software Engineering. When he isn’t staying up till 4am charging through tickets, you can find him watching soccer (especially BPL) — and sometimes even getting out to play it. Artem also loves good television, especially The Office and The Daily Show religiously. His Russian personality shines through in his love for dystopian fiction authors like Orwell, Huxley, and Strugatsky. He currently works mostly in Ruby on Rails, while maintaining a background in JAVA and .Net.

Amiti Uttarwar

Amiti has been a coding aficionada for as far back as she can remember. Her first programming experience dates back to the 1st grade, when she learned her first programming language, LOGO. As she grew older, her interest in technology grew alongside her. She went on to pursue her passion for coding at Carnegie Mellon University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems. Amiti has been working as a full-stack engineer for the past couple of years, and loves applying a problem-solving approach to whatever is thrown her way. Apart from being an avid coder, she’s also an avid traveler — she frequently goes camping, backpacking, and exploring to feed her huge wanderlust. One of her favorite areas to explore is the Sierra range in CA, where she first fell in love with the mountains after spending a month on the John Muir Trail.

Hajin Kim

Hajin admits that she absolutely loved Comic Sans in her childhood days. It was her favorite. But as a mature and knowledgeable Adobe ninja, she now knows better. Hajin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Michigan State University with a BA in creative advertising, and specializations in graphic design and IT. She is currently the web design/graphics whiz and pixel-perfect ensurer at Simbi. When she isn't trying to change the world one flat icon at at time, you can find her catching up with her endless list of hobbies (banging on her instruments, painting, reading, learning languages, trying to become a DJ, daydreaming about food, cooking, eating, etc.). She is on an endless mission to master the arts and hopes to be a contestant on Jeopardy! someday.

Jane Kwett

Jane lives for innovation every day. She was born and raised in SF, in a family of programmers, technical writers, and entrepreneurs. She started her career with an internship for a small incubator company in 2005, which she joined full-time as their 3rd salesperson in 2006. That company was named Yelp. After a few years of skyrocketing growth on the West Coast, she moved out to NYC to build the Yelp community. During her time in New York, Jane threw events for 30-3,000 committed community members, forged new and needle-moving partnerships, and even rang the morning bell on the NYSE the day the company went public. Since then, she’s helped dozens of early stage startup companies create community vision, business strategy, and go-to-market planning. She joined Simbi in 2017, enthusiastic about the opportunity to empower global communities to join the Simbi abundance movement.

Loving his work in customer service, Will flew to Nicaragua to work for Delta Security as their Commercial Coordinator & Supervisor of the Electronic Security Department. Soon after, he joined Simbi where he is in charge of Member Care. Besides solving problems for Simbi members, Will also enjoys matching them up with someone who can make their lives a little bit better.

Rene Castellón

Rene has lived in 3 different countries and 4 different states in the past ten years. He began his college education in Madrid, Spain and graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. While Rene lives and breathes art, it isn’t his only passion — he also plays multiple instruments and composes music. He believes that his love of creating and being able to make a difference in people’s lives have been the only permanence he’s carried with him throughout the years. He finds joy in helping others and making a difference, and his role at Simbi enables him to do just that. Apart from Simbi, his favorite place to pass the time is in the water: give him an ocean or a lagoon and you’ll be gifting him a smile as well.
