Mix Tape Playlist Recommendations

5

5 per unit - Virtual OK - Posted Aug 22, 2016

I have been making cassette mix tapes since 1999. Silly as it may seem I still prefer them to CD mixes (which can only be up to 80 minutes long and lack the longevity of a cassette) and MP3 playlists (which lack permanence). They become little time capsules, letting me remember times in my life.

My mix tapes often cover different themes as well; my tape called "Dreamweaver" is all songs having to do with dreams, "Foreversummer" is songs that remind me of the summer, "Afterlife" is all songs having to do with death, "Naqoyqatsi: Life as War" has to do with the topic of war, and so on. I have tapes for relaxation, tapes for dark moods, or for genres like industrial, metal, 80's pop and even jazz. Just let me know what sort of playlist you want, and I'll tell you the songs and you can track them down and make your own playlist or mix! Who knows, you might find some songs you never heard before and like them. My musical tastes are a bit...out of the ordinary, after all.

Training & Qualifications

I have been making cassette mix tapes since 1999, and have well over 200 of them under my belt. I also have them all cataloged.

Suren's playlist was exactly what I asked for. It had a lot of personality and each piece of the mix has its own flavor. He was efficient and really d...elivered - this was definitely a great deal. Thanks so much, Suren!show more

5.0 out of 5 stars Deeply moving - a future classic. ByLouise J. Haddawayon April 19, 2017 Format: Kindle Edition Deeply moving, thoughtful recounting... of the trials of war overtaking a young boy and his friends in an orphanage in Armenia. A clear rendition in clear and concise voice that both brings you into the past of a harsh survival, and the joys and innocence of a young boy. Finished the book longing for more, and with a lump in my throat and my heart full of sorrow. Won't give it away, but this is a book that will become a classic in understanding the costs of war on the innocent.show more

About Suren Oganessian

My name's Suren Oganessian (a nice unique name I inherited from my grandfather), and I'm an up-and-coming indy novelist with one book out and many more to come soon! I was born in California but have ...been forced to immigrate to Florida in pursuit of the American dream (i.e. affordable housing, gas, everything), although I feel that my heart truly belongs in Armenia, and I volunteered there for six months back in 2015. I have a Master's degree in Creative Writing and the debt to prove it, making Simbi just the kind of place for me.show more
