Cooking Without Recipes (Medium)
50
Cooking isn't about following a recipe. A recipe will tell you to chop to this length, measure this much, and cook for this long. No, cooking is about creativity, about listening to your food and learning from it.
This service is for people already somewhat familiar with cooking. You can make good food from recipes, but you want to up your game. We'll come up with a goal and brainstorm how to get there, and I'll offer advice to make sure the dish comes out like you want it to. Bonus points for abstract goals, like "I want to make something that tastes meaty but has the texture of cotton candy".
Training & Qualifications
I've been an experimental chef for five years and I've made many crazy dishes. Chicken and waffles a la mode with root beer syrup, Swedish calskrove (which is a giant ham and cheese calzone with a fully loaded burger and fries inside), a pizza with a 1:1 tomato and bean base, experimental beverages designed to invoke the taste of nutty milk and the smell of browning butter, etc. etc.
Availability & Preferences
Weekends are better, but weeknights will work. This can be done virtually but is better in person.
