I'm here! Life with chronic illness

About Mike Wood

I'm a Zen Buddhist monk and juggler of several chronic illnesses. In other versions, I've been a teacher in a homeless shelter and a college professor, and airline cargo operations planner, private in...vestigator, a music and film critic, struggling novelist, sake brewer and drone instrument maker and overall restless jackass. I'm married and father to several cats. I don't take myself seriously at all, but I do take sharing and listening and being present with other people to be very important. Simbi is a reminder that we are all in this together and, more to the point, that we all have something to offer, even if for just a few minutes. We all do the best we can and this is an awesome platform for sharing our best. I'd love to end this with a joke, but most of the best ones I know are decidedly non-monastic!show more
