Craniosacral Therapy
80
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that has its roots in the principles of osteopathic medicine. CST works with the craniosacral and fascial system to release deeply held tensions in the body. The craniosacral system is comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that protect the brain and spinal cord. The fascial system is a network of connective tissue that surrounds every bone, ligament, muscle, nerve and organ, therefore connecting all parts of the body.
Using a soft touch CST seeks to restore normal movement to the fascial tissues of the spine and the skull, as well as the body, enhancing the body’s inherent healing mechanisms.
CST can be effective in a wide range of medical issues associated with pain:
Headache & Migraine
Chronic Neck and Back Pain
Post Surgical Recovery
Stress and Tension Related Problems
Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TJM) and Concussions
Fibromyalgia
PTSD
Fatigue
