We will dive into what Insight meditation is, how to practice it on the cushion and embody it off the cushion and into the world.
Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom. Viktor E. Frankl
Training & Qualifications
I have been practicing insight meditation on and off all my life. I grew up in a boarding school for Tibetan Refugees in Northern India with great emphasis on compassion and meditation. The school was founded by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
I started taking this journey sincerely after moving to the U.S in 2007 where I encountered the inherent dissatisfaction and suffering of a culture that is entirely focused on material gain. It made me shift my perspective on what I want to do with this precious life and the opportunity to explore the depth of reality and this mind.
My daily practice is insight meditation and it has allowed me to observe how patterns arise, are maintained and enslaves us in goodness or badness.
I have gotten teachings from many of the well known meditation teachers like the 14th Dala Lama, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche of Naropa University and Shambala tradition, Pema Chodron, Tara Brach, Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche, Thrangu Rinpoche, Migyur Rinpoche and many others.
