Want to gain the edge before playing Archery Tag? Preparing for the zombie apocalypse (and recognize bows are superior to crossbows)? Watched a little too much Arrow and want to see if you've got what it takes to save Starling City? Want to relive your summer camp glory days?
I'll show you the basics of instinctual shooting before you hit the sand, no previous experience required! I'll provide the equipment and show you the basics of safety, provide some historical context, and walk you through how to shoot both safely and accurately, both for target practice, and for (foam-tipped) battle. Unfortunately the open range I've used previously is no longer happening, so we'd need to use your backyard, or your friend's backyard. Bonus: if we're using your yard or other private space, I can accommodate up to three people! Bring friends!
Training & Qualifications
I am an archery instructor in training, experienced in modern recurve and asiatic composite bow. I'm a hobbyist, to be sure, but have found archery to be a meditative practice that has helped me focus on my goals, and release the stresses of my workweek. I am also about to graduate as a certified coach (March 2017).
Availability & Preferences
Weekday evenings and weekends. If you don't have a yard we can use, we'd be meeting on Sunday between 12:30 and 14:30 for Open range.
