Unschooling Advice and Tips
10
Are you considering homeschooling your child, but can't figure out how they will learn outside of the highly structured public school setting? Are you daunted at the thought of having to be their "teacher," and don't think you have the time or energy to pile textbooks on them? Do you work from home and need to occupy your kids with self-starting educational activities? Are you drawn to the idea of unschooling, but don't know where to begin? Do you need a jumping-off place to foster an environment that encourages your kids to learn all on their own? I can share some tips and tricks with you to get you started, or help you re-vamp your homeschooling approach to make it more child-centered and easier for everyone!
Training & Qualifications
I have been homeschooling my two children since 2009. Over the years we have been tweaking and exploring our techniques and methods to figure out what works best for all of us. I am a single parent who works a part time job outside the home as well as a second part time job from home, and I feel like every year we get better and better at crafting an awesome school routine that requires very little day-to-day "teaching" from me, and maximizes kid-led learning. I would call our personal approach a mix of "eclectic schooling" and unschooling.
I can help empower YOU to custom-design a schooling approach that works for your kid no matter their age, grade level, or personality! I can also give you an encouraging shoulder to lean on - sometimes all we need is a friend in the same boat who can reassure us that yes, it will work out and you will do great!

I work days, so I am most likely to respond to messages in the evenings or on weekends.
