How much yarn will you need for your project? - I can give you some great techniques to figure this out on your own!
Do you want a yarn that is bouncy and elastic; soft and cozy and/or firm and hard working? Want something machine washable, or is washing by hand okay to you?
What fiber content is best for the type of project you're making? Is it a sweater, hat, scarf, mittens, bag? There are important things to consider with each different type of project.
A lot of time and money goes into hand-knitting and crochet, and there's a lot to consider when choosing yarn for your hand-knitting or crochet projects! You want to make the right decision, so you're happy with the outcome. I'm here to help!
Training & Qualifications
I've been a professional knit & crochet designer since 2006, and have ample knowledge of what types of yarn and how much yarn is needed for a variety of projects! I've designed hundreds of knit and crochet patterns (http://kristentendyke.com) and have first-hand experience of how fiber content, ply and weight and more can effect the outcome of your finished project.

Everyday, 3–7 AM EST and early afternoon, when my son naps.
