I worked as a lawyer and entrepreneur until the end of 2015, primarily in financial services (mostly setting up offshore hedge funds and other structures).

The world is an abundant place: it's filled with people trying to do the right thing. Most of us have the best intentions - even those whose actions I can barely understand - and the more methods there are for us to demonstrate our underlying faith in humanity, the more likely I think we are to end up "okay" in the long run.

I'm a professional amateur - always trying to learn some new thing that strikes me as essential. I've managed to get basic competence at a bunch of things and there are so many that I still want to try: drums, flying, sky-diving, Mandarin, Arabic, coding, free-running...
