I am looking to make connections on behalf of my husband who is in the final stages of getting his Ph.D in solid state physics. He works with lasers, optics and nanotechnology. He would like to make connections with working physicists who are not in academia or working for defense contractors. He's looking to talk with people who have had good experiences putting their physics knowledge to use in industry or government jobs.

I previously did an exchange with Kathryn where I mentioned I had lived i China and Taiwan learning Mandarin. Since she tutors overseas, she requested... that I prepare an English lesson for her Chinese students, with words they can use to describe breakfast in China, rather than just having to use North American breakfast words that aren’t relevant to them. I loved her idea and I enjoyed creating a PDF with Chinese breakfast food for her. She is super sweet and was patient with me as I found the time to complete this for her.
