Explanation of UK English slang
5
I will help you understand any British slang/idiom/jargon that you might be wondering about. The English language has an abundance of slang, each area having their own vernacular and colloquialisms. I can help with American slang, too. ;) I also know a little bit of Cockney rhyming slang, which is weird, but fun.
Please let me know where you heard/read it, if you can. Any context will help me explain even better. Not necessary to make a request, of course.
***I can also give you a list of words that an American shouldn't say in polite company while visiting the UK (and an explanation of each.) Or a list of words with more common alternatives in England (elevator = lift, etc.)
***Alternatively, I can supply you with 5 random words or phrases just for fun.
Training & Qualifications
I'm from the States, but I lived in England for 10 years; love reading and words in general. I'm fairly literal and straightforward, so I like understanding figurative language as much as I can (so as not to be confused by it later).
P.S. I have a English husband I can ask if I get stumped. He also lived in Scotland for a little while.
