Interested in starting your own apiary? I will answer 15 questions (and they don't all have to be at the same time) related to purchasing bees, start up costs, different methods of beekeeping, purchasing equipment, pretty much anything you can think of pertaining to beginning beekeeping. I've been keeping bees for around 8 years and have tried most methods. I can tell you what has worked for me and most definitely a lot of don'ts. I learned them all the hard way. I'm very friendly but I definitely will not sugar coat anything. Bees are a commitment and while I am very happy more people are interested in them in recent years I have also been saddened by watching some take on a responsibility that they weren't prepared for. It's not helpful to the bees and pretty much makes everyone sad. I adore my bees and can sit and watch them for hours...plus that whole delicious honey thing! So think up some good questions and send them my way***
Training & Qualifications
I am an 8-9 year veteran of beekeeping. I blindly went into it with the best intentions and along the way have learned some valuable lessons. My girls (and boys) have brought me years of wonderful experiences and I would like to pass on what I've learned.
