Basic electrical work

20

20 per hour - - Posted Mar 24, 2018

Need some basic household electric work? Need a new outlet installed, want to update that old light fixture to a more energy friendly one, can't figure out why you keep getting shocked touching that one light switch, want to run some computer networking cables? I can help.

Training & Qualifications

I have done home electrical, basically my entire life. I learned very early from a master electrician (my grandfather.) I have remodeled and rewired almost my entire 2200 square foot house, and I love working with my hands.

However, I feel obligated to warn you, I am not a certified electrician. I do this as a hobby, and I love doing it, but I am not certified, so if you need city/government permits for large projects or anything like that, I'm sorry but I can't help with that. Little stuff, I'd love to help with.

Trading Preference: I’m flexible, just hit me up!

Bill was SOOO helpful! He brought his chainsaw and did a TON of work cutting up trees for me. It was work I hadn't a clue how to do on my own, and f...or him it was a breeze. What's more, after two hours of heavy chainsaw work, he still had the same big smile on his face. :-)show more

Bill is super knowledgeable and is very flexible and willing to tailor our introductory lesson to our profession and personal goals. My partner and I ... really enjoyed receiving his service for ASL lessons and definitely plan on reaching out to him again for help on our language learning journey. I enjoyed learning not only some first few signs, but about the history and etymology as well. It's fascinating info, that we don't get much of as hearing people, this was amazing!show more

About Bill Kemerer

I have a bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpreting Studies that I completed at the tender young age of 36 (late bloomer I guess). I am practicing in multiple ways right now, to prepare myself f...or the national certification exam. To wit: I currently work full time as an interpreter and part time as a direct service provider for developmentally disabled adults, who also happen to be Deaf. This way I can keep my connections to the Deaf community, while I am getting good real world practice, and also waiting for governmental/organizational red tape and testing requirements. Otherwise, I am a country boy moved to the suburbs. So I am the only person on my street who cuts his own firewood instead of buying it. I love being outdoors and working with my hands. I am not a true handyman, as I am not real great at a lot of handyman things, like drywall in particular, but I do have experience in many many types of household maintenance and upkeep... So there are a lot of things I can do.show more
