I will teach you the basics of Computer Science and Programming. These days it really is simple enough for anyone to get started, regardless of age or background. You just need access to a computer and the internet.
The language I'll be using is JavaScript because it has a lot of features that make it simple to pick up for beginners. It's also the de facto language of the web, and once you are well-versed in one language, the rest become easier to pick up.
I'm a firm believer in teaching a person how to fish, so if you are a total beginner, I'll go over enough to get you started on your own path of self-learning. I'll tell you about some great online resources so you can practice and continue learning on your own.
If you're more advanced or want to repeat sessions, I'll go over some more in depth concepts, and basics of web development.
Training & Qualifications
I graduate from the MakerSquare. Officially it describes itself as an 'Advanced Software Engineering Immersive.' More informally, you could describe it as a 'Coding Bootcamp.' It was a 12-week program, meeting 6 days a week, from 9am to 8pm (except Saturdays which were until 5:30). I highly recommend the program to anyone interested in getting serious about software engineering. I should also disclose that I am in no way associated with them or being paid to say any of this, I'm just a graduate of the program who thinks very highly of it. It isn't a guarantee of a job, I am still searching, but I am confident it gave me the skills I need to work as a software engineer.
I've also taken a few Computer Science courses in college and online, covering a range of subjects, from Econometrics, to Financial Modeling, to Game Programming, to Machine Learning.
