One 30 Min Problem Solving Session
15
During our thirty minute Skype session, I will listen to the details of a single, specific problem in your life and help you come to a decision about that problem based on the information I am given. I will not tell you what to do, but I will help you come closer to figuring it out for yourself by asking probing questions and teaching you how to prioritize the details. If we solve your problem before the thirty minute session is over, we can discuss whether you want to set up another session to discuss another problem, or ending our session. If we look like we're going to go over time, we will discuss what to do, or I will find a suitable stopping place and continue next time.
Examples of what we can do together: I cannot answer questions for you about medical or legal issues (as I'm not a doctor or a lawyer), but I can help you decide whether or not YOU want to approach a doctor or lawyer with an issue by asking about your wants versus your needs, taking risks into account, and writing out a list of pros and cons. I can point out options you may not have already considered about complex social situations. I can help you create a list detailing what needs to be done in order to accomplish a specific goal, like what order in which to clean your room or house, or formulating a well-balanced grocery list based on your dietary restrictions by looking at what kinds of foods you like and what options are available.
In order to make sure you get the most out of our session, I ask that you to write up a brief note to yourself before you click to reserve a spot, with what your question or concern is, and any pertinent information that you think will help me understand what the real issue behind that question and concern is. That way, we can reduce the time spent explaining the situation as you see it, so we can get to the real meat of the issue and help you find a solution.
Disclaimer: I am not a mental health professional. I am not a doctor or a lawyer. I am not a social worker. I am only a woman with a wealth of experience that wants to share her hard-learned solutions to those situations with others, so that they don't have to go through the same thing. The actions you take based on our discussion is entirely your responsibility. I hold no legal liability when it comes to what you choose to do with the information you learn about yourself.
Training & Qualifications
I am a woman with 12 years of sobriety under my belt, and during those twelve years, I learned many lessons about how to be a functioning, happy adult. I am excited to be able to share those life tips and tricks with other people who may need the help. In addition to working frequently with others through my recovery program, I spent four years in dialectical behavioural therapy and am well-trained in healthy coping mechanisms that work for me.
Availability & Preferences
I'm usually free after 8 pm.
