Copyediting by definition is the process of taking raw text (ie: draft of a book) and improving the consistency and accuracy. Specifically faulty spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, checking cross references ("as the graph on page 14 shows"), changing headings and paragraph structure for uniformity in structure, smoothing transitions to improve readability.
**Copyediting is different than proofreading. Proofreading happens at the final stage before mass distribution. A proofreader checks what the finished product will look like. They are equally assigned to the aesthetics of the finished product as they are to catching last minute mistakes and correcting them.
Training & Qualifications
I am an experienced writer. Often I take on projects to write persuasive sales copy for landing pages or email autoresponder series.
I have also copyedited for author of physical books and digital books.
