Organic fruits and vegetables - Did you know that Organic fruits and vegetables still get sprayed with harmful pesticides? The difference is the types of pesticides. Since Organics cannot be GMO's either, they actually need more potent pesticides in order to protect them.

In addition Organic fruit when researches performed taste test studies, performed equally or less well across multiple studies, compared to fruit that is not labeled as Organic.

Organic farming has been declared an unsustainable/scalable practice. Yields on Organics are lower and we could not feed the world purely on organic fruits and vegetables.

GMO's slightly different topic, but GMO's should probably be renamed to OMG's.
GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organism - we use GMO's on a daily basis to produce fuel, feed our bodies and produce meatier better tasting livestock.

While the argument of "Playing God" is valid. At our current capability with genetics we're not yet putting cow genes into lettuce to make better veggie burgers[maybe some day - I bet it will be udderly delicious.]. The current reality is actually that we're mixing plant genes together, taking genes from similar plants that have natural defences against bugs and other non human predators, including genes that build resistance in the plant to improve it's survivability. This gene manipulation is actually very similar to what we've been doing with plants all along anyways. We've been mating plants to create new ones for hundreds of years, and frankly it's done nothing but good for us. We have a lot of new fruits and veggies that never existed before us, and our crops are stronger and more resilient meaning more food for us.

Skeptics often claim "we don't know the long term side effects of using GMO's so they must be bad" yet this actually isn't true, long before GMO's were fed to people we fed them to animals for decades.

GMO's are still heavily regulated in the US and much of the world and have to go through a lot of testing before they are allowed to be sold for consumption - for obvious reasons.
