Mentoring for YouTube

20

20 per session - Virtual OK - Posted Jan 30, 2017

I'll answer any questions you may have about starting and running a successful YouTube channel. I'll also give you feedback on best practices for your channel from the editing, to the publishing and beyond.
I provide critique on your videos including thumbnail, description, tags, playlist, annotations, cards, titles, and so on, as well as a critique of your channel and how it can be improved by offering suggestions regarding channel design, look and feel, structure, and ease of use.

Finally, I'll offer guidance on promotion, monetization, SEO, collaboration, MCNs, legal and copyright as well as references to some useful resources for source media and tools.
If you're looking to grow your online presence and are serious about it I would recommend attending social media conventions and can give advice for budgeting, traveling, and preparing for those as well.

Training & Qualifications

I am a filmmaker and a content creator on YouTube. I've been actively involved in the YouTube community since 2007 and networking with YouTubers and researching as a Business/Industry attendee at every US social media convention since 2012 including VidCon, Playlist Live Orlando, DC, Tristate, StreamCon NYC, the Streamys and the Shorty Awards.

About James Clark

I love to create, I've got a keen interest in fixing things too, and I love traveling and making new friends along the way. I'm a polymath and always interested in learning new things. I like to rel...ax and have fun just like the next guy, but nothing beats the feeling of accomplishment when you finish a project or create something you can be proud of. I teach chess, play piano and always wanted to learn to sing and dance. I build robots, Captain a team on a pool league, make films, YouTube videos, and broadcast on YouNow. I travel every year to California, New York, Florida, DC, and Amsterdam for social media conventions. I play Pokémon GO. I repair my own vehicle while at the same time learning how to repair it. I'm working on learning these languages in this order: Japanese, Spanish, French, German My passion is filmmaking and I've been making videos since 1998 on VHS. My first camera was an X10 Security camera, which I wired up to a VCR to record my videos. I took a video/audio and lighting class in High School which inspired me to invest in an actual video camera. I saved up $200 and bought the RCA CC4352 Full-Size VHS Camcorder, which was a shoulder mount camera. I would film improv comedy skits and commercials and show them to my friends and family. I had been writing short stories for many years before this but I didn't start writing script for screen until college when I went to film school. Growing up I also played around with stop-motion animation using the LEGO Vision Command camera. As you may know, stop-motion is a lot of work so my stop-motion videos were no longer than a minute or two and took hours to make. When YouTube came out I was deployed overseas. When I came back to the states in December 2007, my brother told me about it and I started my channel where I uploaded my old videos from VHS. Since then I've immersed myself in the YouTube community and made many more videos. I'm attending the New York Film Academy for my MFA in Filmmaking.show more
