I will provide care and company for your parrot while you are away. In addition to preparing and feeding fresh food and changing water, I can provide the appropriate light cycle for your bird, possibly let them have out of cage time (if they're manageable out of the cage for a stranger), and most importantly, keep them company, talk to them, and make goofy and entertaining sounds for them.
I love parrots and I will automatically love your parrot because it is a parrot, in addition to getting to know its unique birdality.
Training & Qualifications
I'm a long-time parrot person. My father was an ornithologist, and I've been around birds (both wild and pet) my entire life. I am partially owned by a severe macaw, and have been owned by an eclectus and numerous lovebirds and parakeets in the past. I've parrot sat for large rooms full of cockatoos, and still have most of my hearing!
I understand the unique needs of parrots, unlike most pet sitters you might find. I know which foods and household products and hazards to avoid, and how subtle the signs of illness can be in parrots and when to take them to the vet. I'm generally good at managing most parrots out of the cage, with the exception of some aggressive mature males.
Most parrots love me, because I love them.
