virtual sewing lesson
30
I will teach you how to sew.
What you can expect to learn in a one hour session:
If you're brand new, I can teach you how to turn on your sewing machine, thread it, and stitch a straight(ish) line. I can give you enough homework so that you can learn to stitch a straight line on your own.
If you have just a little experience, I can teach you to make cloth napkins, pillow cases or simple bags.
If you have more experience, then I can teach a variety of techniques or how to draft a very simple pattern.
I'm happy to teach something more complex over multiple sessions. Tell me what you want to do, how much experience you have, and how much time you're willing to spend on your own between lessons, and I'll give you an estimate of how long it will take.
Training & Qualifications
I've been sewing since 2009. I've taken four college sewing classes: Introductory Sewing, Pattern Drafting, Tailoring (making suits), and Sewing Stretchwear. I know how to sew clothing, bags, cosplay items, and linens. I have a little experience with quilting, but not much. Most recently, I've sewn two fancy dice bags and a very sturdy book bag. Next, I plan to make a frilly pirate shirt for Halloween.
Availability & Preferences
I'm available after 10 am PST and before 9 pm PST on most days. Tuesday and Thursday I'm not available until the afternoon.
