Monsters worry. Some Monsters obsess. And often Monsters mirror our phobias and anxieties.
If you would like a monster who shares your anxiety,
I will send a monster with some words about an anxiety of your choice. (Who knows, if you are highly skilled at anxiety, you may want more than one monster to help express your reality.)
Your monster can come to you as a digital image (iphone photo quality) of a cut-out monster and anxious words collaged over a painted background,
or I will draw a monster especially for you, with some anxious words, on a blank art card.... the drawing will be a line drawing, made with monster-friendly art pens or other monster-friendly art supplies. Then I will mail the monster card to you. Monster cards are suitable for gifting (blank on the inside for your message), they can be framed, or they can be talked to. If you are going to give the monster card to someone else, tell me, and I will put the card in a blank envelope, and then put it in another envelope before mailing it to you. If you decide on the digital image option (more colorful), then you are on your own for printing or enveloping.
Training & Qualifications
I have many monsters of my own. They talk to me, and I talk to them. Monsters make interesting friends.
I was a gallery artist a monstrously long time ago. Now I am launching into picture book art and writing.
My first to-be-published picture book has some monsters wandering around inside, and my monsters and I were worrying if they were good-enough monsters, which started us talking about monster anxiety.
I have a handful of psych diagnoses, some depression, insecurities, a sprinkling of OCD, stirred up with lots of creative thinking..... sometimes I worry, but when I do, my monsters help me.

About Carole Stedronsky
I am an artist and writer. I am 63 years old, although I have lots of playful inner children. My friends say I have taught them how to play.... I've taught improvisational creative process to childre...n and adults, informally, and in classes, with drawing, painting, quilting, and writing. I have a masters in English with an emphasis in creative writing, and I've been in a writing critique group that has been meeting weekly for 25 years. We meet at noon, have lunch together and chat for a half hour, then read, edit and and critique each others' current work. I have published poetry in literary magazines, my chapbook Wolfdream won the Anibiosis Press chapbook contest and I've been nominated as a Pushcart Poet. I'm at a place in my life where I'm working on book projects.... I'm finishing a memoir and book proposal this month (ten years work), and then I will be working on finishing the illustrations for my picture book titled You Are The Artist, to be published by Reflection Press. I play the bodhran (Irish frame drum). After a bad fall from a horse, I have nerve damage and chronic pain and have a purple electric wheelchair (zoom) and a wonderful Golden Retriever service dog named Hazel. I've figured out how to do my creative work (writing, drawing, painting watercolors, creative consulting) from my recliner where I spend most of my time at home (for pain management). Through necessity, I've become quite knowledgeable about pain management through a multi-faceted approach, and that will be another book project. This year I got an outdoor recliner, which is wonderful, because I can sit outdoors and write or read or draw and occasionally throw tennis balls for Hazel. I'm sitting in my outdoor recliner as I write this, under the wisteria, dog, cat, and Japanese maple trees beside me, enjoying the cool summer morning. I'm married to a retired firefighter captain. Our 29-year-old son (who teaches high school physics) and his wife (who is an archeologist) and two Italian greyhounds live three blocks away, and we go on dog walks together in the afternoon or evening. show moreOpen to other proposals
