This summer, I'm going on a trip to Europe. We'll be in Italy, Iceland, Germany, and Austria for a short period, and I don't want to be one of those American tourists that expect everyone to speak English. I want to not only be able to ask tourism-related things and for directions, but I also want to be confident in pronunciation so that when I learn some of the languages online, I can practice speaking. I don't expect to be fluent by the summer, but I definitely need to make progress.
And, yes, I use Duolingo already.
