Village Building Convergence

The Village Building Convergence (VBC) is an annual event organized by City Repair that brings together community members, activists, artists, and volunteers to collaborate on building and transforming public spaces in their neighborhoods. The event initiates with an eight-day Convergence in early June and extends through the summer with weekend events until October.
During the VBC, participants engage in a variety of placemaking activities such as building community gardens, constructing public gathering spaces, creating public art installations, and transforming streets and intersections into pedestrian-friendly zones. The goal of these projects is to strengthen community connections and empower individuals to take action in their own neighborhoods.
In addition to the placemaking projects, the VBC also features a variety of educational workshops and events focused on sustainability, social justice, and community building. These workshops cover topics such as permaculture design, natural building techniques, community organizing, and conflict resolution.
