About Susan Wilson

In addition to FundHer, I work with my 10 year old daughter who's launching her own tech company, Mackenzie & Company. As CEO, Kenzie's creating toys she wishes she'd had. With early learning products... that introduce & teach kids technology, programming & entrepreneurship through play, we're building on last year's Kickstarter success. After being told by her older brothers she'd never be able to build her own video game over the summer, I agreed to help Kenzie create an $892 campaign to do just that. Within 2 days, Kenzie raised $20,000 from 1400 strangers all over the world! Programming is today's superpower BUT it isn't taught until high school. Yet it's no secret younger children naturally learn foreign languages faster so I created PinkieSquare.com so kids could learn to make & play each other's games. Kids need to learn the skills to bring the ideas trapped in their imaginations to life - empowering them to imagine AND create a better future instead of being trapped consuming what others create as the world's reliance on technology grows. An award-winning serial entrepreneur with a record of success, I believe in failure! How can you create anything new if you're afraid to fail? Perseverance is critical yet accepting failure as a necessary step in the process of success is what allows us to persevere. A graduate of Georgetown, I've completed two-thirds of Harvard Business School's 3-year OPM Program. Honored to have been named a FORTUNE TOP TEN FEMALE ENTREPRENEUR (2009) as well as earning lifetime membership in Ernst & Young's prestigious Winning Women Program, I've been featured in INC. Magazine with other notable achievements including: Maryland's Top 100 MBE Forbes Business Competition Finalist Debt Buyer of the Year Finalist Maryland's Top 25 Woman-Owned Companies Top 50 Collection Professional WBE Certified Minority Woman-Owned Business SmartGirlsRock Scholarship Partner Stevie Awards Finalist: Most Innovative Company & Use of Technologyshow more
