Emergency training for bystanders
Life-threatening emergencies can happen fast. Emergency responders aren’t always nearby. You may be able to save a life by taking simple actions immediately. YOU are the help, until help arrives.
This 3 hour course will teach you how to use simple skills to save lives. You will learn basic skills to help people with life-threatening injuries until professional help arrives. You will learn to effectively communicate with 9-1-1 operators and tips on keeping yourself safe during an emergency. You will learn how to recognize and stop severe bleeding by using direct pressure or applying a tourniquet. We may also discuss how to pack a wound to stop severe bleeding that cannot be controlled by direct pressure or by a tourniquet. You will learn how to appropriately position an ill or injured person and how to provide comfort and emotional support. We will discuss working with children and working with people who have a handicap or functional need. You will learn how to prepare for emergencies and what to keep in a first aid kit.

Training & Qualifications
I'm a certified EMS Instructor. I first trained as a Firefighter/EMT about 10 years ago and I currently work full time on an advanced life support ambulance. I have been to many car wrecks and other types of emergencies.
