About Stephen Gagné

For as long as I can remember, I've always enjoyed learning new things. As a result, I'm constantly picking up new hobbies and interests. I have yet to come across a subject that I haven't had at lea...st a passing interest in. I love watching documentaries and occasionally visiting obscure or arcane museums. In university, I came to realize that my real passion in life is sharing knowledge. I've had the opportunity to teach most of the things that interest me and I can honestly say that one of my greatest motivations is seeing people's eyes light up when something new dawns on them. When I'm not working, I can usually be found on the dance floor. One of my latest serious hobbies is 1940s Lindy Hop. I'm an active volunteer within the Ottawa Swing Dance community and have even started teaching dance a little. I'm interested in just about everything but my more serious hobbies include reading, writing, photography and going to just about every kind of museum out there. I'm proud to call myself a nerd and enjoy talking about science and science fiction as well. I have a profound interest in art as well. I wouldn't go so far as to call myself an artist but I like to experiment with different styles and techniques. One of my life goals is to learn more about art since I feel it's too easily overlooked in our career focused society. In short, I'm a nerd who is interested in just about everything.
