Proofreading and copy editing

Don't let a single typo run you.*
Okay, maybe it wouldn't ruin you, but you should almost always have a second pair of eyes look at your work. They will see things your eyes have been unconsciously ignoring. Or the gaps in your narrative that your brain fills in without you thinking about it. Or those pesky extra double spaces in between sentences. Or all the tangential and irrelevant sentences bogging down your reader...
...getting to the point...
I'll proofread and revise your writing of up to 2,000 words.** This includes fiction, non-fiction, fanfiction, essays, soon to be viral Medium pieces, diary entries, angry letters, Facebook posts, and more. I will also proof even more exciting things like marketing copy. I'll check for spelling and grammar issues as well as provide feedback on the piece overall (if desired).
I will also give you a virtual high-five because having other people revise your writing can be a scary thing to do.
*Don't let a single typo ruin you.
**If your piece is longer than 2,000 words send me a message and let's talk!
Training & Qualifications
I have a B.A. in English with a Creative Writing concentration. That's 3+ years of writing as well as reading, proofreading, and critiquing other students' pieces. One thing I learned: how to say you messed up, but in a nice and constructive way.
I've got a great eye for detail (or rather, four eyes) and will also keep your voice in mind while editing. Lastly, I've got great Googling skills and I'm not afraid to use them. For example, I just Googled if "students' work" should be "students' works", read arguments leaning more towards the latter, thought that it read funny even if grammatically correct, and ultimately (as you can see) decided to use "students' pieces" instead.
Availability & Preferences
I prefer using Google docs to make suggestions, but am also willing to use Microsoft Word. If you're writing and publishing on Medium, I'm happy to read and leave comments using their editor, too.
