Making a Homemade Latte~30min

100

100 per session - Virtual OK - Posted Mar 29, 2017

Explain the variables that factor in making a decent cup of espresso, describe the proper way to use an espresso machine, go through basic milk frothing techniques, and go through the items I use every day that have helped me make a delicious cup every day (avoiding Starbucks XD ). Some of the items I use is included in the qualifications section.

This is meant to be an introductory session, as I am just formulating my lesson plan for being able to get any students in to the coveted skill of creating latte art :D

As this is my first lesson, I am not comfortable meeting people in person so I would do this virtually. Still not sure how this website works so I am keeping privacy at a priority for myself.

I do expect that someone interested in this lesson has the following: any espresso machine, a frothing pitcher, milk, and finely ground coffee if you want to follow along. This introductory does not judge quality yet, just the basics. Hope you have a Latte Fun!

Training & Qualifications

1 Year in to espresso making, have been coached by friends that have spent several years as Stabucks baristas.
I use a Gaggia Classic Espresso Machine with Lavazza Gran Crema Coffee beans freshly ground. I do not have a professional grinder, but I do keep a little secret I keep to make it work...in a later lesson.

Intro to Guitar + Music Theory

About Rick Cruz

I am a graduate student with various hobbies and skills including espresso making, cooking, violin, piano, guitar, music composition, computer technology and many others. I will only offer services th...at I am very comfortable teaching to others. My online presence will be minimal at first because I am new to this service, but hopefully if this is all legit, I can come back and offer lessons on most of the hobbies that I enjoy. I honestly love teaching, and after finding this website on Facebook ad, I was drawn to the possibility of being able to teach other through this website. I may not be as active as other users due to my heavy involvement in school (which I am not ready to mention yet). Though, as I get experience and credibility, I hope to be very frequent on this website, especially when I am not studying my butt off. My first lesson ever on here is one on espresso making, a skill that I have acquired through my years as a undergraduate to graduate student. I have been playing various instruments like the piano and violin for well over 10 years. I do give lessons in real life, but only to my friends whom I see every day. It would be nice to hone my skills as a teacher and expanding my horizons to you guys. It'll just take some time for me to adapt to this online presence. Thank you all, and have a wonderful day!show more
