Piano/Songwriting Instruction

I will travel to your place to provide my time to you or your child using your own piano or keyboard (or if you don't have a keyboard, I can bring one). We can focus this time on any of the following:
- Learning some chords for immediate improvisation
- Songwriting
- Strategies to approach a specific piece that you wish to learn
- Technique assessment and advice on what to improve
Training & Qualifications
I received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington with a focus on piano pedagogy and studied piano performance under Richard Farner at Pacific Lutheran University. I've taught piano for 11 years as a member of the Washington State Music Teachers Association, in Seattle and Issaquah after-school programs, and in private homes across King County. I craft a private piano lesson experience informed by student interests varying from music theory, to songwriting and improvisation, to classical studies. I aim for a supportive, energizing lesson environment in which my students can thrive.
