About Nicki Thomas

Oh boy, the dreaded "About me" section. It's hard to think of what to say in these. Simbi suggests that "The more you describe yourself, the more other members are likely to reach out to you " but wha...t about me do people want to know? Would saying how old I am (27) or listing where I work (e-comm) really drive people to like me more? Or is it more about listing my hobbies, pastimes, and interesting parts of my life that people want to see? Let's try that and see what it gets me. I'm a creative mind. I draw. I create jewelry. I enjoy games where I can play as someone else for a while - D&D, Vampire the Masquerade, Call of Cthulhu, etc. Trading cards games such as MTG are what keep me awake at night. Learning about the new cards - new strategies. Absorbing all I can from a tiny back-lit screen as my partner snores beside me. I'm a creative mind. I worry. I invent concerns. I get stuck in and endless loop of "what ifs" and imagine the worst that could happen - a plan fails, I'm not good enough, something goes wrong, etc. Thoughts like this are what keep me up at night. Worrying about what tomorrow holds - the tasks I've ignored. Seeking advice from a tiny back-lit screen as my partner snores beside me. I hope to one day focus my mind on the positive side of being creative. To break out of the endless loop and go forward in life with reckless abandon. My ambition is to own my own shop and sell what I've created with my own hands and no longer be held back by what I've created with my own mind.show more
