Fix your slow computer!
25
I will give you a phone call, FaceTime, or Skype call (whatever is easiest for you) and help you speed up your computer. If you're local, I'll fix it in person if you pay for my gas. Here's how I'll do it:
First, I'll check your computer's resources. I'll find out how much RAM is installed, your CPU, architecture, and type. If you're trying to play games, I'll check your GPU and other hardware specs to make sure your computer has the physical requirements needed to continue using your computer. If your computer does, I'll move on. If not, I'll let you know your computer is outdated and find another solution, for example, installing Ubuntu, a lighter operating system or helping you by increasing your RAM or replacing your hard drive with a solid state drive. If you don't know what any of that is, that's why I'm here :)
First, I'll check to see if there are any particular programs that are hogging your computer's resources and try to fix your computer by removing programs, defragmenting your hard drive, etc... If you don't know what defragmenting is, that's what I'm here for :)
If your computer is still slow and you have Windows 8 or 10, I'll show you how to refresh Windows and start over from scratch. Make sure you backup your files onto a hard drive or flash drive beforehand. This process may delete all of your files.
If you have Windows 7, reinstalling windows becomes a lot harder. If you're not tech savvy, this will be hard, and I'll we'll talk about it and see whether you want to continue or not.
If you have Windows XP or Vista, the operating systems are outdated and I'll be happy to give you advice and consultation, but you'll probably want to buy a new computer.
