One-On-One Improv Lesson
30
I will teach you the fundamentals of improvisation. Normally I teach improv in a group setting, but over the years I've developed a lesson plan for teaching students (both new and experienced) one-on-one.
Improvisation is the art of making things up on the spot. Some believe it's just silly theater games. I believe it's so much more. We don't wake up in the morning and have scripts handed to us. We're improvising everyday of our lives. And if you're not improvising you are sticking to a script that you've written for yourself in the past and holding yourself back. Improvisation teaches presence and presence is essential to realizing all the opportunities around you and living a self-actualized and fulfilling life.
In this lesson we will play several games that will teach you how to come up with new ideas (find inspiration), how to make connections from seemingly random ideas, how to express your emotions through your words, how to get out of your head and play, how to express yourself physically, and much more.
Improvisation is a helpful tool for anyone: actors, bus drivers, CEOs, writers, coaches, athletes, etc.
