Like many Maryland residents, I'm a transplant. I originally grew up in Florida and moved here in 2010, and I love it.

I'm on a temporary hiatus from working and college to be a stay at home parent to my two school age children. I am very fortunate to have a loving and supportive fiancée to help me do this, since I know it's an opportunity many parents would love to have but simply can't afford.

Although I'm not currently employed, I have kept myself busy with various volunteer jobs that are able to work around my schedule. Currently I volunteer at my children's school as needed. Before that I was doing volunteer work for a local hospice writing, updating, and tracking posts for prospective volunteers on VolunteerMatch.com. I also briefly volunteered as a bereavement caller, calling surviving family members of the deceased to help get them in touch with counseling or other services they may have needed. I also delivered home cooked meals to families with patients living at home to help ease the burden on them.

I always try to leave things better than I found them, and volunteer work has been a great outlet to help me do that.

In my free time I also love to hike, nature watch, bake, drink a good beer or a good cup of coffee, or play video games.

I'm believe that diversity is a positive thing and I'm accepting of people of all different backgrounds, regardless of race, age, gender, nationality, political affiliation, sexuality, etc.
