Self Sufficient Homesteading
50
I will show you or tell you how we live our lives as self sufficient homesteaders in exchange for goods or services. You can come camp on our land and learn how to take care of the earth and how the earth takes care of you.
We do not have power or water on our land. We haul water from the creek (and buy drinking water at the store) and we have a generator for short uses at night. We use lanterns and fire most of the time.
We also dig latrines, or use thunder pots.
We've learned that cold showers feel a lot better in the summer 😄
Eventually we want to start a commune of like minded people.
Requirements to come and stay on our land:
You must be willing to bring your skills to the table. Doing nothing is not an option. You must be willing to help us build and improve on our land. You can build yourself a structure to live in, but it stays on our land and is ours, when you leave. Gardening, renewable energy, outhouses, sturdy living structures, water sources, etc.
This lifestyle isn't meant for everyone, and that's okay. But we absolutely love our serene paradise and if you chose to take part in it, we're sure you will too.
I've had SO many responses of people asking if they could donate or how to help. I didn't have any information and only asked for advise. Then someone suggested that I set up a fundraiser! I have done so.
