Arthouse Film Companion
5
I will attend presentations of arthouse film with you. I'd also be happy to discuss the film afterward over a beverage of choice in a coffee house, pub, or other public place of your choosing. Film festivals are great, too! I have never participated, but I'd relish the opportunity.
As I am without a working car, you would have to retrieve and return me, or the venue must be on the bus line during Marble Valley Regional Transit District hours of operation.
My "discretionary funds" are limited, as I live on a fixed-income. At the beginning of a month, I can usually afford to splurge for one ticket. Beyond that, your generosity is appreciated.
Training & Qualifications
1.) For possibly 55 of my 57 years, I have watched movies. Of course, I don't remember if I watched any at 2 years of age, but since my mother was a big movie fan, it's more than likely I was at least in the same room.
2.) A Professor Emeritus friend who taught film studies invites me over for the occasional movie night. It's like getting a slow film history education.
3.) There are huge gaps in my education, so I won't mock you for your lack of film knowledge.
4.) I will not talk, rattle snack bags or boxes, make loud slurping noises with a beverage, answer my cell phone or send/receive text messages before and during the film, blow my straw wrapping at you, or yell "Fire!".
5.) If the film is wretched, I'll gladly walk to the exit with you.
6.) Sitting in a beautiful cinema with a big screen and excellent presentation equipment playing an arthouse film is one of my favorite activities, about as close as I come to a religious experience.
