Commune (graphic novel)
4
88 pages, complete self-contained story, 1000 black and white panels, self-published
World's first (nearly) "carbon neutral" graphic novel in comic stores! (I know because I visited and checked and asked around quite a bit. Nobody else was doing this!) How eco printing? Using California's Greener Printer printing methods with tree-friendly recycled chlorine-free paper, vegetable dyes, wind-powered manufacturing and carbon offsetting. (The glue binding is normal, however.)
The text paper has a very nice feel and bright look. The cover has a particularly nice tactile texture, not sure if it's the eco materials or what — but it's not plasticky and it's not that weird waxy coating on some covers. It has a non-offensive less "toxic" smell, just FYI, if you are into book smells. (Sorry, but I am. LOL). You'll want to keep it in a nice dry book shelf. Or let it get dog eared and pass it around. The book receives and displays love well.
The inks are very sharply defined, and the most common question I get is, "You inked all this by hand?" (It has a lot of detailed line work). Indeed! All art is hand inked, hand lettered, hand ruled. Designed inside and out by the artist.

But Simbi is the best deal!
This price seems to work with my Simbi economy, I hope it works for you!
If you want a signed/personalized version, let me know before you order and tell me what you want it to feature.
In comic book talk "self published" just means I printed it myself. I actually got a low-interest artist loan from Springboard for the Arts because they liked my project best from a selection of different project proposals. My dad and I, and my uncle, successfully paid off the loan together. So I guess you might say this was a family project! ^u^
