WordPress a great CMS website program choosing the wrong theme and or web hosting service can severely degrade your site even on a fresh install. TTFB Time to first byte is crucial but so are Image Optimizations and Removing fonts and outdated settings.
I have taken dozens of websites from 10 seconds or more loading times to 2 seconds or less in some cases. I even have a website of my own to sell video services and it is loaded with image and graphics and video plus woo commerce I have had it testing on Gtmetrix on 2 different occasions at .9 yes you read it right less than 1 second.

I have worked with WordPress websites since 1998 working on sites for myself and my friends and then many local small businesses. I know the good and the bad and also used to do technical support for Netscape which was later bought out by Microsoft and become today what every one knows to be Internet Explorer I was reviewing code and troubleshooting since HTML 1.0 back in 1995 in Hillsborough Oregon HQ for Netscape. I then went on to work for Egghead Software and Paul Allen.
