I run a family practice-style acupuncture clinic in Madison, WI, with a specific focus on pediatrics and psycho-emotional well-being. My three children were born while I attended acupuncture school, and I have always kept them healthy with Chinese medicine. While in school, I also spent two semesters as an intern at Rady Children’s Hospital, where I treated kids in the Chronic Pain program, the Hematology-Oncology unit, the ICU, and the Barnardy Center for Medically Fragile Children. While there, I learned that sometimes the best way to treat the child is to treat the parents.
When in school, I also fell in love with Five Element style acupuncture, which focuses on treating the patient’s spirit. It helped resolve my own post-partum depression and anxiety, and I saw dramatic results treating patients dealing with stress, depression and anxiety.
I like to spend time getting to know each individual patient. To that end, I run one room and typically stay with the patient for most of the treatment. My kids have also donated some of their toys to help pediatric patients feel more at ease.
