1 My website, http://cup-of-sugar.org/, isn't your typical travel blog. It's about asking for and giving help. I attempted to do it everyday--failing miserably at documenting that--and made some amazing friends in the meanwhile. That's why I adore the concept of Simbi. It's about the connection.

About Laura Shiley
I have three major passions in life--helping, exploring, and brewing. Last year, I saved up enough money to quit my beloved job as a caregiver for people with developmental disabilities and I hit the road for 10 months. During that time, I hitchhiked and Couchsurfed around Europe, learning how to live happily with only what I could carry and how to ask for help.
In my free time, I love to make beer, hike, find live music, attempt to make music on my ukulele/cello, help people in any way that they need, learn languages (I'm currently working on Danish), and explore new places.
