I will teach you to make lye soap
Lye= caustic and dangerous, some people are afraid of it because their highschool science teacher demonstrated how quickly it will dissolve a chicken leg bone and all or they demonstrated a explosive reaction with it. Fear not my friend I will teach you the proper technique and safe handling necessary to use lye to turn your favorite fat into beautiful handcrafted soap. You can use any fat to make lye from jojoba oil to rendered bacon grease! You can extract your own lye from hardwood ashes or buy it at Lowe's. I will walk you threw how to make a basic soap, how to customize it with charcoal, oatmeal, and scents and then how to dry it if needed. Because I make hot process soaps you will not have to worry about chemical burns or curing times and will be able to walk away with soap you can use that very night.
Training & Qualifications
I have been making handmade soap for my family for the last five years. It all started when my son was born and had his first bath, the next day he broke out in hives. I troubleshooted for months testing beauty bars from the store and commercial soaps and nothing was suitable for his sensitive skin and the prescription soap was just so far out of my budget it was hysterical. So I started googling home made soap and saving my grease and here we are.

About Kelley Kearns
I'm a frugal wife and mum. I do everything I can for my family without calling in a professional sometimes to my chagrin. Graduated school for culinary arts, avid canner, crochet, sew/tailer and quilt..., started learning to weld when i was 8 basically I'm one of those self taught folks that knows a little bit about a lot of things, a lot about a few things and not enough about most things.show moreOpen to other proposals
