About Keadrin Cain

I am a musician to the core; I sing all day every day, and I am a cello major in my senior year. I also have a strong passion for languages, and speak conversational French and Spanish. I'd love to br...ush up my skills, and further my beginner knowledge of German and Italian. My favorite things to do for fun include playing boardgames and sports like soccer and volleyball, fencing, ice-skating, and reading. I'm in a happy longterm relationship and hold family at the center of my life. My father was in the military, so I've moved around a lot, but I call Washington my home, as I've been here twelve years. I've made friends all over the country, and keep them close to my heart, no matter the distance. My goals include working with current and new composers as their go-to "cellist for hire," continuing to perform with my piano trio Elevator Music, and pursuing a Master of Music degree in performance, whether it be cello or chamber. I started singing as soon as my infant self could form words. However, I had not heard of the cello until fifth grade. I began orchestra then, but wouldn't start private cello lessons until the summer before eighth grade. My lessons went well, and I learned fast. I played in a local youth orchestra, and after a year of lessons I moved from the intermediate to the advanced orchestra. I spent seven years in SOGO, and attended Cougar Strings Camp. After my second summer at CSC, I knew I wanted to be a cellist. Since high school, I've premiered several compositions by my fellow students and some faculty at WSU. Elevator Music, my piano trio, traveled to Nebraska for the Chamber Music Institute this last June, and I performed as a soloist and chamber musician while at the Orfeo Music Festival in Vipiteno, Italy. In addition, I've worked with my close friend Kirill Polyanskiy on several tracks for albums by the Materia Collective, including "Twilight," a track on the Besaid mix of the new SPIRA: Final Fantasy X album, which is now on iTunes, Bandcamp, and Spotify. I've also had the pleasure of working with Crimson Covers (find them on YouTube) on covers of Heathens by 21 Pilots and Burn the Witch by Radiohead.
