Supporting the local artist community, we cut and etch wood, plastic, leather, glass, and stone with your designs. We also design and consult with you on how to optimize your own design for laser cutting. Our laser cutter has a 24"x36" table with a 150 watt laser that can cut through 1/2" plywood.

Things that are good to understand; if you need something etched, a simple jpg or other image format is just fine. These are called raster graphics. However, if you want a thing cut, then we need vector graphics or lines. You can tell if something is vector by opening the image and zooming in on a line. If you see different shades in little squares (pixels) around the edges then it's raster. If the edge stays crisp, it's probably vector.

For cutting the laser needs a line, not a picture of a line, to create a path to follow. There are a number of ways to convert an image into vector linework. Some online converters work well, but for best results you can trace over you image manually with programs like Inkscape.
