Home School Assistance
I will help you out with teaching your older (i.e.: Middle & High School aged) home school students with the study of history, literature, philosophy, art history, and religion.
My technique involves the use of story telling and the Socratic method combined with lecture, art and "living history" activities such as cooking. While my exact specialization is medieval, I am versed with World history from the early River Valley Civilizations to the current day.
While I am on the "progressive" end of the Christian spectrum, I am fully committed to Nicean orthodoxy.
Training & Qualifications
I hold an MA in Medieval Church history and Systematic/Philosophic Theology from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. My BA is in History with a Minor in English Literature, and a near minor in Art History.
Jamie Paulson wrote a recommendation for John Robison
John lives and breathes history. He's a personal friend of mine and we brunch together and he teaches me incredible things about history, the kind of things that you'll never learn in history class. You know how high school kids gossip about their friends? That's how John talks about history. He'll make you feel like it happened yesterday and the people are characters in an over dramatic television show.
About John Robison
I am a free lance scholar, soon to be Old Catholic Priest, geek, and gadfly. I am looking forward to helping my community, particularly through a medium with avoids the dehumanizing aspects of capita...lism. I have an MA in History and Systematic/ Philosophical Theology from Austin Presbyterian, and a BA from Davis and Elkins College. I am a part of a tradition that falls on the "Progressive" side of the Christian Theological spectrum, but one that stays well within the peramiters of the Nicean Creed. I am particularly interested in working with members of the LGBT community, and all people who feel left out by the mainstream Church and society.show moreOpen to other proposals
