Pottery Teacher, Artist, Mother. I've been teaching art for over 10 years, I currently teach at 3 local schools. I have a home studio where I also teach and create. I am creative with just about anything I do, there is no such thing as thinking inside the box in my world. I love to barter! Making connections in my community and improving my corner of the world one kind act at a time.
Tacoma, Washington based potter Jenifer Davis's passion is to create irreverently shaped functional sculptures and pots. Jenifer offers both custom works, which she throws by hand in her studio one at a time for private clients, and classes. The hand-thrown process leaves a good deal of the outcome to fate. Jenifer revels in this serendipity, and is fond of saying "the clay is happy in its natural state, with a tender yet firm hand you can convince it to do what you want". She also loves the randomness of the transformation in the firing process. From adding glass to finding a new beautiful glaze combination, the best part is seeing what emerges after the kiln is opened.
