About Jeff Zuyddyk

I am working to create a sustainable homestead with my wife in West Michigan, for our daughter to grow up on. We are raising a flock of 50 laying hens, and we have planted a 60' x 90' garden plot. We ...are growing a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and herbs 100% organically. Gardening is my passion and it is my favorite way to spend any free time I have. Digging my hands in the dirt, watching all the plants grow, and harvesting the freshest and healthiest produce each day for my family to share, are some of the most rewarding aspects. I believe that the key to a long, healthy, balanced life is the food we put in our bodies. I think its important to teach my daughter that hard work and planning can be deliciously gratifying. I also think it is really important to know where our food comes from and to have a connection with it. I hope to inspire others to become more involved with the food they eat, and to realize the importance of supporting local farmers. show more
