Reiki is a universal energy that reminds our bodies how to heal itself. So it doesn't matter what the issue is- low energy, insomnia, headaches... our bodies know what to do. Sometimes we just need a little jump start.
A reiki practitioner is simply "attuned" to this energy by a qualified reiki master, tapping into this energy by focusing on different symbols, depending on the client and their issues.
A session can last anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours, depending on what your body and spirit need. Neither our bodies nor the universal life force can be rushed! The client lies down on their back while the practitioner moves their hands along the client's body- usually in direct contact, unless the client prefers more distance.
It's generally a very relaxing experience for the client as they feel their bodies receiving the nurturing universal energy. Sometimes the relief is instant; sometimes it takes a while for it to kick in; and chronic pains may crave multiple sessions, though not necessarily.
Training & Qualifications
I received my Level 1 and Level 2 reiki attunements in NY in 2007. My reiki master actually developed his own method, Alef Reiki. So called because the energy is drawn from the Hebrew alphabet and Kabbalah. It does not rely on different symbols for different circumstances- rather, it is one very powerful, all inclusive energy that is above distinctions.
In 2018 I received my Level 3 and Alef Reiki Master-Teacher, which means your body automatically receives all or any of the other 50 or 60 other energies I work with. So neither of us need to think too hard or analyze the situation- your body knows best, and receives what it desires and requires <3
