I am a garden nerd. I love edible and medicinal plants and am a strong believer that everyone should know how to grow their own food - especially since food prices are rising all the time. Everyone should have access to healthy, organic food, regardless of their income.
My ideal job would be helping low-income families learn how to grow their own food to become self sufficient and/or managing a nursery/greenhouse. I currently work as a phone operator (not my ideal position) as well as volunteer with the Clark County Master Gardeners and Heirloom Gardener Magazine.
I am currently enrolled in a horticulture program and I recently completed the Master Gardener program as well as a Permaculture Design course. I wrote a short description about Permaculture here: http://www.heirloomgardener.com/organic-gardening/techniques/what-is-permaculture-zb0z1608.
My husband and I are both originally from Washington, although last year we did take a brief detour to Texas. When that didn't seem to work out, we decided to come back to Washington and ended up in Vancouver so our kids could be closer to family while we both went back to school.
I love to learn and have a wide variety of other interests. I may eventually list them all here. For now, I think the biggest thing I am seeking is someone who has a fix for frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis). If you could fix that, I'd be one happy lady!
